When…
We have hikes EVERY Sunday , evening hikes during the summer and regular trips away in Ireland and abroad. Once a month we organise a Sunday Shorts hike. Every Wednesday morning we have a short gentle hike.
How to get started
-
New hikers can experience three “Taster Hikes” with us to discover the joy of hiking. If you love it (and we think you will!), becoming a member is the next step.
-
At 10am or 9.30am outside The National Concert Hall, Earlfort Terrace, Dublin 2, D02 N527. See our schedule page for the exact time on a particular Sunday.
-
Sunday Hikes:
For all Sunday Hikes the club organises a car pool from our meeting point at the National Concert Hall , Earlsfort Terrace. So there's no need to offer or request lifts in advance - with sufficient drivers turning up each Sunday, we organise this on the day.
To facilitate hikers without cars, minimise our environmental impact and to reduce parking issues at hike starts, we appreciate hikers car pooling where feasible. Plus car pooling is a great way to get introduced to your fellow hikers!
Wednesday Morning Walks and Summer Evening Walks:
These walks are mostly accessible by public transport. See schedule for hike start locations. Note some evening walks are not accessible by public transport and the club does not organise a car pool for these.
-
• Start with the basics. You can build up your hiking gear over time
• Boots to keep your feet secure and dry
• A waterproof jacket to stay dry. Plus a warm layer underneath.
• A small rucksack for your Lunch, water, hat and ideally gloves.
• Don’t wear jeans – they soak up any rain.
